Adult Orthodontics
Healthy teeth in adults respond to orthodontic forces in the same manner as in younger individuals and orthodontic treatment can be successful at any age! It is estimated that adults make up one of every 4 to 5 patients having orthodontic treatment.
Many options are available today to minimize the appearance of braces. New techniques and materials make modern appliances smaller, sleeker, less visible and more comfortable. Some initial adjustments will be necessary, but if you are like the vast majority of adult patients, you will adjust quickly and will return to your normal routine.
To attain your dental goals, your orthodontist will work with other oral health professionals to help you achieve the best aesthetic and functional results possible for your gums, jaws, and teeth. This collaboration may involve your family dentist and/or specialists such as periodontists, oral surgeons, endodontists, and prosthodontists.
